Brembo .484 Calipers

Traditionally I use Brembo GP4-RX Calipers with Brembo 19X18 MKII Master Cylinders and C60 brake Pads on the majority of my track bikes. I do this because I need the consistency in brake feel and modulation while trailbraking. These .484 calipers are cheaper and use the exact same piston sizes as the GP4-RX calipers so these feel almost identical to the GP4-RX calipers.

If you go with either of those Brembo Calipers the first thing you are gonna want to do is replace the pads that come with those calipers immediately because they suck, but with the right pads installed these calipers are the best value for the money in the Brembo product line and the only calipers less than $2000 that actually offer a performance benefit over the OEM Stylema calipers.

Per my brake pad review page I installed the Carbone Lorraine C60 pads into these calipers and have nothing, but praise for the combination.

As with so many of my articles the idea behind sharing this much info comes from multiple threads on internet discussion forums so once again instead of typing out the same basic replies once every 2-3 months I decided to put those thoughts down for everyone to view. You can read my thoughts on brake products here

Here are the same .484 calipers on my R6 (since I had the picture already handy)
