Aftermarket Air Filters
| Well as it turns out
our friend and most trusted professional tuner Nate @ 2 Wheel Dyno Works has tested numerous aftermarket air filters
on the Hornet SP against the OEM filter and has
definitively stated the improvements are negligible at
best between all of them. What this means to me is the OEM air filter flows more than enough air for the requirements of the engine and also offers the most filtration so I will indeed be sticking with the OEM Honda air filters. Sure a case can always be made for re-usable race filters, but gauze filters require added expense in cleaning solution, oil and time for maintenance when you could just buy an OEM filter throw the old one away and be out riding in mere minutes, but the real selling point for me is simply the better particle filtration that OEM filters provide.
