absolutely no reason to not use an OEM oil filter
regardless of make Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha they all know
exactly what their engines require. Don't blame cost or
convenience or any other bullshit - I mean they are
readily available at every Honda dealer and multiple
outlets online and even if they were at the full retail
price of $20 (Which nobody actually pays) that is still
cheap insurance that you have the correct amount of
filtration and the correct pressure bypass spring rate. The biggest problem with aftermarket oil filters is 2-fold. They may or may not be the correct spec to begin with, but equally as important any aftermarket supplier can change their specs on a whim. Not just where they are manufactured, but what parts they are built with and even how. Inferior products like cheap seals and o-rings or glued together cardboard end plates lead to failures in the filter you will likely never even know about. Filter Which one looks better quality to you? For those of you that have been using the K&N oil filters with the little nut welded to the front of them well much like their air filters their oil filters are pretty much crap too. Those K&N Oil Filters have been banned from every sanctioned motorcycle racing body in the USA due to failures with the seals that resulted in fires on the track... |
