Race Stand Options
| So until
Racetorx or a similar company decides to make us some
captive adjusters with spools or hooks (SEE PIC DIRECTLY
BELOW) we have a bit of an issue with using paddock
stands...
My temporary solution utlizing Pit-Bull stands is as follows: For general maintenance I simply put a metal round bar stock through the axle hole and use a spool type stand For removing the rear wheel entirely I use a non-spooled Pit-Bull stand that has the rubber feet that simply rest under the swingarm. It is not the best solution, but it does work as long as you are careful not to abruptly move the stand while the bike is resting on it. For added stability I like to use a Baxley style front Wheel Chock where possible regardless of which type of stand I am using I also use a Pit-Bull Triple Tree stand that lifts the Front End from the hole in the bottom of the Triple Clamp when I need to remove the forks from the bike entirely. I will get a picture of that setup the next time I take the forks off |
